Signs of spring

This morning I decided to look for signs of spring.

The thermometer read 10 degrees when I first looked, definitely an improvement from a few days ago, but not spring weather.

The goat pen and beyond, the horse pen, are covered in snow.

 This is my round pen.

The critters are still wearing their winter coats.

There are piles of snow the wind blew into drifts, that then had to be cleared.

Spring hasn't come to the pond yet.

There it is! No, not the cat on the fence.

Can you see it?

Here's a closer view. This time of year the yellow willows turn vibrant.

And that's the only sign of spring I've seen so far.

I have some exciting news. My book, A Story of the West, is now available on Kindle from Amazon for $5.99. This ebook version can also be viewed on iPhones, iPads, PCs, Macs, Android devices and Blackberries. Here's the link:

So what signs of spring have you noticed?

  1. I spotted the yellow willows, we get them here too. Signs of spring around here- the horses are all shedding, the tulips were poking through in the flower bed at our church, but then got hit with -20C and snow so I don't know if they have survived.
Congratulations on you book, I hope you do really well with it.
