This is our enclosed buggy. It is what is called an Amish Buggy. It is cozy. There is also a small back seat and a place in the back to put things. It is just plain fun to get to cruise around in this baby. I don't have any idea how old this buggy is but it still has the steel tires on the wheels, not rubber ones like on the newer buggies.
The horse pulling the buggy is my beloved one Wakinyan. Him and I have been through a lot. One time a few years back we were out looking for some cattle up in this rough high country. I was following a cow trail when all of the sudden I heard this creaky cracky sound and then we both fell in a frozen beaver pond that, unknowingly, we were crossing. Well let's just say that sucked and get it over with. There were a couple of other riders around which was a good thing. I don't know how long it took to get Wakinyan out of that frozen pond. It seemed like a long time. I would get him to try and get up on top of the ice and it would crack away. So we made our way out just like that. He would break the ice and we would get that much closer to the shore. I had to get down in the water a couple of times to help him some but we finally made it out. Then we had to get the hell out of there and back to the trucks. It makes me laugh now but that day, if the wind would've been blowing I bet we would have froze to death.
Well, I could tell stories about that horse all day but I got stuff to do.
